The Rasheed Gbadamosi
Eko Art Expo, which ran from Friday January 27th and ending
today, Sunday January 29th, 2017 at the Eko Hotel & Suites, VI, Lagos – is an art exhibition by Lagos State Government
being organized to honour the late Chief Rasheed Gbadamosi, who was a
playwright and one of the notable art collectors in the country who also served
as the co-chairman of the Lagos @ 50 Planning Committee before his death in
November 2016 and to showcase the
creativity of students in tertiary institutions as well as emerging artists.
The project was aimed at encouraging the ingenious creativity of visual artists
thereby boosting the curation of contemporary and homegrown artworks. In the
long run, the exhibition put a spotlight on the visual art space as a major
