In recent
years, several small-scale initiatives have emerged in Lagos to promote the
screening of independent, international arthouse films. Obviously, this is a
response to the lack of programming space for such films in existing cinema
halls.
Goethe-Institut
Nigeria (in collaboration with Lagos Film Society) is inviting interested
persons who are active in the promotion of independent films in Lagos to a
roundtable discussion where ideas and experiences will be shared and possibly
new formats developed towards improving access to arthouse cinema in Lagos.
Interested persons should send a small presentation of their initiative/project
to derin.ajao@lagos.goethe.org.
