Forward to the Past: ULI and the challenge of postcoloniality by Pro. Chuu Krydz Ikwuemesi
ULI is one of the traditional styles of painting, with traditionally made paints which are gotten from plants. ULI style of painting, I may liken to Egyptian wall paintings, reflect stories based either by fact or fiction.

Now, ULI is African, ULI is Nigerian, ULI is Local, ULI is no different from others and ULI can go global and beyond walls - it is not limited to just painting on the wall (so do other art works). Promoting the Nigerian Art is not just coming to exhibitions and buying works, yes, that is a major count, but we can promote the creativity by printing them on wearables - fabrics, Hats, footwear, even bedspreads; on Kitchen Utencils, etc. The foreign textiles we get, an Artistic personnel thought up the idea, made a sketch and brought it to life. Coming home, when you see the Ghanaian wax, you identify it as 'Ghanaian'.
Some of these are wearable.
