The Rasheed Gbadamosi Eko Art Expo, which ran from Friday January 27th and ending today, Sunday January 29th, 2017 at the Eko Hotel & Suites, VI, Lagos –  is an art exhibition by Lagos State Government being organized to honour the late Chief Rasheed Gbadamosi, who was a playwright and one of the notable art collectors in the country who also served as the co-chairman of the Lagos @ 50 Planning Committee before his death in November 2016 and to showcase the creativity of students in tertiary institutions as well as emerging artists.

The project was aimed at encouraging the ingenious creativity of visual artists thereby boosting the curation of contemporary and homegrown artworks. In the long run, the exhibition put a spotlight on the visual art space as a major contributor to the economy and development of the State.

PERMUTATIONS by Tayo Olayode

One of Nigeria’s experimental artists, Tayo Olayode, will open the Wheatbaker’s 2017 Art Program with “Permutations”, an exhibition showcasing 38 impressive mixed media artworks.
Olayode, who graduated from Ahmadu Bello University with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art in 2000, presents diverse works using a range of complex techniques and styles, setting him apart as an artist who spans the worlds of abstract, realist and surrealist expression.

The exhibition opened at the Wheatbaker, Ikoyi, Lagos, on January 23.

One of the most exciting elements in the show is an 8-by-10 foot long installation created out of colorful synthetic ropes and copper wire which he calls Endless Development; a powerful reminder that society is strongest when we allow diverse philosophies, ethnicities and persuasions to be interwoven into a rich tapestry of creative expression.

I Am Art.. #Random

I Am Art,
Because I am art; I am firstly a work of Art by God. The human is the perfect masterpiece; ever wondered why this part of your body is where it is and why it is there? Why it functions like that? How one part links up to the other? Why no one has the same body structure; size, height, weight, facials? Just like an artwork, it comes in different mediums, by different Artists with just one purpose - To Express.

MEET LEX PATRICK, One Talented Nigerian Artist.

Have you ever wondered how an Artist can get even the hideous details in a portrait's expression? Communicating the feelings of his portrait to be felt by a viewers mind.

Yes, I do wonder.
